The shape and size of your rear are essential when making your body look more attractive and proportional. A Beverly Hills Brazilian butt lift (BBL) uses fat transfer to give you a rounder, fuller butt to help you reach your aesthetic goals.
Have you been considering a Brazilian butt lift? Then you should learn as much as you can before making a decision.
Why A Brazilian Butt Lift?
The proportion and shape of your rear are primarily up to the genetic lottery. Also, how your skeleton is structured and where the body stores fat will affect how your lower body appears.
You can have some effect on your body weight with regular exercise and a healthy diet. But even if you do hours of squats at the gym every week, you still may have a flat butt that lacks shape and volume.
The BBL can help you shape your rear and surrounding areas, including the thighs, lower back, and hips. Some reasons you may choose a Brazilian butt lift include:
- Improve the curves in the lower body
- Eliminate fat in the abdomen, thighs, or hips while increasing fullness in the rear
- Fit into clothing better
- Give a more pleasing shape to a flat rear
BBL Surgery Overview
This surgery has three parts:
- The plastic surgeon removes fat from your belly, hips, legs, or back with Beverly Hills liposuction.
- Your fat is clean and purified after transfer.
- The plastic surgeon injects the purified fat into specific parts of the rear to boost shape and volume.
Most surgeons perform the procedure with general or IV sedation. This is because it’s typical for some of the injected fat to die after one or two weeks. But experienced plastic surgeons will inject more fat than necessary with this in mind.
It’s essential to select a skilled plastic surgeon for this procedure. The most severe complications from BBL surgery occur when it’s performed by unskilled surgeons. For example, a surgeon with minimal experience may inject the fat too deeply into the muscle.
This can lead to fat entering the bloodstream, which is a potentially fatal complication. Fortunately, a Brazilian butt lift is usually safe if you choose a skilled plastic surgeon.
Good Candidates For BBL Surgery
BBL surgery can be an attractive option to enhance the buttocks’ size and shape, but some patients make better candidates than others. The best candidates for BBL surgery usually fit into these guidelines:
- You want to enhance the size and shape of your rear without silicone implants
- Your skin tone is good, especially in the buttocks and hips
- You have enough fat in other body areas for fat injection into the buttocks
- You are ok with not sitting on your rear for at least a month after surgery
Why BBL v. Butt Implants?
One of the best features of a Brazilian butt lift is improving the rear naturally without silicone implants. If you choose a skilled plastic surgeon, BBL surgery has minimal risks and complications, and you get excellent results.
But if you are thin and don’t have enough fat in other body parts, you may need buttock implants to enhance your rear. Buttock implants can work well for some people, but it’s a serious surgery that takes two months of recovery.
Also, silicone implants have more risks, including capsular contracture and higher infection rates. They also don’t look and feel as natural as a Brazilian butt lift.
BBL Recovery
Pain after the procedure is typically mild, but you will need to alter your routine substantially for the recovery period.
The transferred fat in your rear will need time to settle in and develop a blood supply. So, you can’t sit or lie on your bottom for about two weeks after BBL surgery.
You will need to sleep on your side or stomach during this period and not sit except when using the bathroom.
After your surgeon gives the ok, you can sit on a ‘donut’ seat for short periods or put a pillow under the thighs to avoid putting pressure on the rear. You can usually sit normally after about eight weeks.
Most patients can engage in light activities after a week and go back to work after two weeks.
After BBL Recovery
Your BBL results are made to last for 10 years or more. So fat that’s removed from your body won’t grow back, and transferred fat in the rear will live for many years.
But remember that gaining or losing a lot of weight will affect your results. So, you should keep a stable weight to maintain your new look.
You should expect final results to show after approximately six months. After time passes, you’ll notice your curvier rear and how much better you look in your favorite clothes.
Most patients have great results from their BBL procedure, and it’s well worth the time and cost. If you want to save time and money, consider other procedures, such as a Beverly Hills tummy tuck or Beverly Hills breast augmentation.
